Please read this now......... I really need some advice on how to get rid of annoying junk mail............?

Do I need to close my existing account, and open a new one......... so I won't have so much junk? I have virus protection, but getting 400- or so junk mails a week is just crazy. Anyone have suggestions to get rid of this problem? Thanks so much........ and by the way........... hope you all have a great day. :)Please read this now......... If you are with Yahoo-----they offer spam protection, but you need to make sure spam guard is activated.


On mail page---click on '; options';---scroll to and click on ';spam protection';. Is spam guard turned on? Then make sure the box is checked that says ';send address to the blocked folder';-----or something like that. Be sure to save any changes.





Also---virus protection doesn't stop spam---just viruses. You should never open spam and NEVER click on the unsubscribe link----that only verifies an active account and they just laugh, high 5 each other, and sell your address to other scammers --generating more and more junk.


So set your guard and start clicking spam and let Yahoo take care of it, by deleting and blocking future mail from that site. You should see a reduction soon.Please read this now......... I really need some advice on how to get rid of annoying junk mail............?
Here are some things I do...





I have 2 e-mail accounts. My regular one and one that i use whenever i shop online, fill out forms, anything I do that doesnt have to do with business and friends.





Set your settings so that all of your email that is not from a contact goes to your BULK mail box...then you can MASS DELETE it all at once!!





Set your security level to HIGH.





Here is the best advice...If most of your spam is advertisments...open up the e-mail and scroll to the bottom and there is, more often than not, an UNSUBSCRIBE option. Everyday UNSUBSCRIBE from these e-mails and within a weeks your Junk mail should be reduced!!





These tips should help you not have to resort to deleting your account!!
