Getting married on Sept 8.06, any tips or advice on how to pull this wedding off?

we are getting married at city hall, and are thinking of having a bbq for our reception, but any hints or advice would be appreciated.Getting married on Sept 8.06, any tips or advice on how to pull this wedding off?
I assume you already have your outfit picked for the ceremony. Did you get a bouquet? You still have time to order one and a boutineer for your soon to be hubby. Are your rings sized? If that's all set, you just have to worry about the bbq reception. As far as that goes, I'd go to the dollar store and get white paper %26amp; plastic tablecloths for the tables (the plastic ones they sell there are so thin you can see thru them and the paper ones, if put down first, will block the table from showing thru). At two bucks a table, you just can't go wrong. Think about getting the tablecloth clamps because you don't want them flapping off if it's windy. I'm assuming you're wanting to keep a check on finances so rather than going with all out flowers on the tables, think about getting some of those honeycomb paper bells to use as centerpieces (use double-stick tape to keep them in place). Get bunches of daisies, pop the heads off them and scatter them on top of the tables. You can introduce color with your plates, silverware and napkins. Try finding the thin paper plates in a color you like and stack them on top of the styrofoam plates to give them more stability. (with careful shopping you can find paper that fits down inside the styrofoam and still leaves a white band around the outside - get a roll of double-stick scotch tape and put one little piece in the center). Get your plastic silverware in bulk (white will work just fine). Go ahead and take a knife, fork and spoon and wrap them in a colored napkin - tie off with white curling ribbon bow (or tulle) to make them a little pretty. Go ahead and start borrowing coolers so you can get them washed and cleaned up. Buy all the drinks you're going to serve. I'm not sure if you're having the event catered - you probably still have time to call local bbq places if you want. If you're doing it pot-luck style, go get a bunch of the clear plastic ';glass-like'; serving dishes from the dollar store so they all match. Have someone in charge day of to transfer things over. And if you've got tons of spare time on your hands (ha, ha, ha) get out there and string christmas lights all over place (or delegate this out to someone). If you want to go way out, get some potted mums (or helium balloons are cheaper - get a roll of tulle at wal-mart for about $5 and tie a big tulle bow at the base and let some tulle hang to sway in the breeze) to line the drive or bunch up at the corner where people turn and have a few scattered around in the reception. That should pull it off nicely and quick. Good luck! You're a really smart one! Enjoy your day %26amp; congratulations!!!!Getting married on Sept 8.06, any tips or advice on how to pull this wedding off?
1)Go to any bridal shows between now and then. We won so much stuff filling out ballets at the shows it was great.

2)Ebay is a great place for deals - I got my ring on Ebay, and we got great deals on pew bows and even my wife's dress.

3) get some cheap disposable camera's for the reception. We got some great pictures at ours.
Sounds like you'll have a fun day!! Keep it simple and you'll be fine! Congrats and good luck!
Have you run out of pranks after all this while?
HAVE FUN! ITS NOT THE WEDDING THAT MATTERS..ITS THE HONEYMOON.
thats so funny..., im divorced on sept 8.06. hahahaa,, yah, uuhhmm, no tips.

o. wait, just one, dont have elvis there.
Congratulations!!! My advice is to keep it simple. If you want to save yourself time have the food catered. If you want to save money then break out the grill. Peace and God bless.
Sounds like a great idea.........Affordable yet memorable.......Enjoy your day, dear, and congrats..........
hey, that's great! sounds good to me, and a bbq is a good idea.
Congratulations! Just remember to keep it simple, it's not about the party, but about the two people. Just make sure you have a reliable friend there snapping photos. Those are memories you want to capture on film!
Sounds good to me!!! Best Wishes!!!!!
Make sure you wear something to protect your dress. Get one of those Tide pen's, they work great!

I think the BBQ idea is great if that's how you want to celebrate your marriage and its ok socially in your world. You don't want to be remembered for being too cheap to have a formal reception if that matters to your friends and family.

Congratulations and long happy life to you both!
sounds fun first of all you wont have time any more to get it catered so ask your aunts on both sides to make a covered dish to serve everyone that you are inviting go and rent a gasaboo so incase it rains you all will be covered ask you uncles to do the bbqing for you and have your parents get coolers of drinks show up in a nice sun dress nothing to fancy and have disposable cameras sitting around just be sure to make a announce ment that they need to leave the cameras you want to get them developed also have a cd player their with cd's and ask family to bring more cd's and have a brother or cousin to do the djing get the family involved they wont mind infact they will remmeber it for ever since you asked them to help good luck and congratulations
